Effective Secondary Recovery Stimulation

GasGun technology was used for an effective secondary recovery stimulation in a tight sand development in Thailand. This paper was presented at the IADC/SPE Asia Pacific Drilling Technology Conference.

Use of Progressively Burning Propellants in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

GasGun technology was successfully used in nine operating heavy oil wells in Colombia. The paper was presented at the 2015 Heavy Oil Latin American Conference and Exhibition (HOLA).

Heavy Artillery

GasGun is a solid propellant fracturing device based on ballistic technology from the US military. The propellant generates high-pressure gases at an accelerating rate that create a fracturing behavior dramatically different than hydraulic fracturing or explosives. The article was published in the December 2016 issue of Oilfield Technology.

Clear!!!

There is a growing list of applications for propellant tools in the increasingly complex world of well stimulations, which are explained in this article. Published in the October 2010 issue of Oilfield Technology.

Think Outside the Frac

There are many benefits of solid propellant stimulation over conventional hydraulic fracturing techniques and several of those are explored in this article. Published in the October 2012 issue of Oilfield Technology.

A Solid Approach

There are several advantages of fracturing with solid propellants over traditional methods. Published in the May 2009 issue of Oilfield Technology.

Gun Control

New Technology Magazine, a leading oil & gas publication in Canada, interviewed various operators in Canada to understand how they have used the GasGun.

Sandia National Lab Experiments of Various Propellants SPE/DOE 8934

The effectiveness of the technology that the GasGun is based upon has been proven through independent research. In a study conducted by Sandia National Laboratories, multi-perforated propellant was 300 times more effective in enhancing formation permeability than a standard solid propellant in a direct side-by-side comparison.

Successful Application of GasGun in Injection Wells

The GasGun has been utilized with a high rate of success in injection wells all over the globe. The following paper prepared by Medco LLC, is a detailed case study on the use of the GasGun in four injection wells and one producing well in a south Oman sandstone reservoir. This paper was presented at the Indonesian Petroleum Association’s 38th Annual Convention & Exhibition, May 2014.
